First for 2019 – Spellbinders Kits

Hello Friends,

As promised, I’m back for 2019!  I made it through the holiday season….how about you?  With all that behind us now, it’s time to get back to business.  I treated myself to loads of new goodies and am anxious to start using them.

I have also signed up for Spellbinders Kit and Caboodle Club of the month.  I’ve received Nov. and Dec. kits and am very impressed.  Although the November kit was more holiday themed, I do plan to make use of it for 2019 holiday cards.  Here is the link in case you may be interested in seeing what the clubs are all about.

One change to my blog that I am making is to post only 2 times a month instead of weekly.  This will take some of the pressure off me to have lots of new material to show every week.  I can now spend more time taking full advantage of my club kits, making cards and continuing on my watercolor journey.  Also on the agenda for 2019 is perhaps making one final quilt.  Many months ago, fat quarters were on sale.  Of course, I had to purchase 2 of every single one!!  Now what to do with them is the question.  I’ve been searching for a quilt pattern that I like.  The hunt goes on for now.

I belong to a cardmaking group of which I’ve been a member since about 2006 so you will see, from time to time, some of my cards are designed for swaps and challenges.  It’s a fun group, a great bunch of gals and it challenges me to design cards to certain criteria.

I would like to add that I am not on any design team nor do I endorse any one particular company or product.  I like to shop from many companies, look for the best deals and purchase only the items I am interested in using.  I do not usually list the products I use on my cards only because I use what I have on hand to achieve my goal, no matter who I purchased them from.  I will try to be more informative about the products and list where they come from if I can.

With all that out of the way, here are the first two cards for 2019.  One is for a color challenge and the other for a black & white swap, both for the group I belong to.

Both cards were made using products from the Spellbinders December 2018 kits.  I mixed and matched the small die of the month and the large die of the month and used paper and flowers punches from my stash.

My goal is to use everything included in the kit at least once so there will be more cards to come using the Spellbinders Kit & Caboodle Club kit.

See you all back in two weeks with more goodies.
