Okay, friends, the twenty million dollar question?????? Where have I been lately? I’m here, just not doing too much cardmaking lately. I did, however, make my fall and holiday cards and a few special cards as well. But, for the most part, I decided to take a break for a while. I think I have some valid excuses…want to hear them?
- This past summer was just too darn hot here in Boston to do much of anything.
- I decided to curb my spending.
- I needed a break to re-evaluate what I was doing and why.
- I wanted to learn some basic watercolor techniques.
- I had a few minor health issues but I’m fine.
- I needed to cut my on-hand inventory of cards due to storage issues.
Even with all these excuses, I did manage to have a banner year and put in a good day’s work. Here are my tallies for 2018:
Handmade Cards – 473
Watercolor pieces – 70
Etsy – 18
I plan to take the rest of 2018 to re-group, relax and enjoy the season. With the upcoming holidays, it’s almost impossible to find time to experiment with some new ideas so I will not have another post until 2019. I am, however, formulating a new plan of action, re-evaluating my goals, purchasing some new supplies and gathering ideas for some new projects for 2019. I am not sure how much will change and/or remain the same. It definitely will be an interesting journey.
With all this said, what did you do on Black Friday? Well, I went shopping. Since I hadn’t purchased anything new in 7 months, I decided to treat myself. I did make a few purchases…. well, a lot of purchases with the intent on jumping in January 2019 and resume card making. Can you tell I was a bit out of control? I broke down and finally got lots that were on my wishlist from the past year so I’m happy. Just about everything is ‘new to me’. Purple tape, Nuvo drops, foil mates, tidy towel, gems, embossing powder score tape, maker/pencil cases, stamps, dies, black 3-d foam, connect glue and more. I constantly watch and save videos so I have lots of instruction and inspiration.
I’m hoping to be able to share with you lots of new projects in 2019.
So, for now, I wish everyone a very HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON, enjoy the ride, stay stress-free and meet you back here in 2019!!
